The 737 Autopilot Tutorial (FS Only)
We may be questioned to ourselves how do we use or set the autpilot in the old vintage 737-200. Its not like the others, as you can just push a button and a knob to change the heading and stuff like on the newer NG's and now the NGX. No, this takes alot more skill to learn but is somewhat easier to set up.
Heading Hold
When you get into the air and into a safe area to set the autopiliot, turn the right hand knob to the heading desired and wait. You turn the knob on the left to what the other knob is set at so you can tell its on the right heading.
Altitude Hold
You cannot set what the desired altitude is untill you reach it, but when you reach it you have to hit the ALT HOLD button on the far right . it will safely set its own course to what altitude within a few feet of where you hit it.
Speed Hold
Unfortunately with the panel you are using it has no speed hold button unless anyone can find it. So you have to control the speed manually
When you are done and ready to land just hit the two "engage" buttons on the right and the autopilot is disengaged.
